Updates

Show Reminders & Important Notices

As we prepare for this year’s event, here are some important reminders and updates for all exhibitors:

Registration Opens: January 1st

Registration Deadline: March 1st (checks must be postmarked by this date - no exceptions)

Show Dates & Schedule:

March 20th: Weigh-in for sheep, goats, and hogs. Cattle must be in the barn by 8pm.

• March 21st: Cattle weigh-in

• March 21st: Bonanza, Market and Fit + Show

March 22nd: Stock Sale, Meats Judging, and Livestock Judging Competitions

Important Notes:

• It is the exhibitor’s responsibility to bring buyers to the stock sale. While we will promote the event, filling the seats is ultimately the responsibility of the showmen. This is especially important for those coming from out of state.

• Goats will only be allowed as prospect animals this year, with a minimum weight of 40 lbs., they must be a meat breed. Please refrain from sending rude messages regarding the show rules. This decision was made by the Board of Directors after careful consideration.

• Last year, I heard several comments regarding how the show is run. We are always looking for ways to improve, and I would be happy to talk to new volunteers interested in donating their time to help make positive changes.

Let’s work together to make this year’s show a success for everyone involved! Thank you for your continued support.

Important Reminder for Hog Exhibitors

Help Educate Your Buyers!

I hear it all the time—questions and concerns about the expectations for the show and stock sale. As we prepare for the upcoming event, I encourage all exhibitors to help educate and set clear expectations with your buyers so they can make informed decisions.

Whether it’s understanding the process, the rules for the sale, or what to expect on show day, helping buyers be prepared will ensure a smoother experience for everyone.

Let’s work together to make sure the show is a success and that everyone has the information they need to make the best choices for their investments.

If you have questions regarding the butcher process I am sure Sunnyside Meat Packers would happy to help answer any questions you may have. They share our passion for education.

Thanks for your cooperation and continued support!
